Amazon’s Big Spring Sale 2025 is on the horizon, and now is the time for brands to start preparing, planning, and strategizing for how they’ll take advantage of the event.
Amazon has announced that the Big Spring Sale will take place on March 25-31. Amazon also noted that the primary categories for the sale will be “Home, Fashion, Beauty, Outdoors, Sports, and other seasonally relevant categories.”
If you’re planning to participate in the Big Spring Sale, here’s everything you need to know about this event day.
Big Spring Sale Basics
The 2025 Big Spring Sale will happen from March 25 to 31, 2025. All deals have to be submitted by March 17, which we’ll talk more about later.
As every Amazon seller knows, event days generally drive more traffic than average days, so you should adopt a different strategy for these sales. Customers also typically expect a discount, so if you aren’t offering one, you could see a drop off in conversion rates during event days.
How to Participate in Big Spring Sale
Customers are more likely to click on a listing with a green coupon badge or a red best deal badge, so enacting a discount strategy for the event is key to success. All deals for the Big Spring Sale have to be submitted by March 17, so now’s the time to plan what discount you’ll offer during the sale.
Lightning Deals
Lightning deals are limited-time promotions that either extend for a specified amount of time (for example, 4–12 hours) or until your inventory runs out. You can apply Lightning Deals (or 7-day Best Deals) on eligible products—but only if Amazon decides your product is eligible.
Coupons
Coupons are a promotional discount that is applied to a singular product, and offers a specific discount, such as 15%. Shoppers must click to apply the Coupon, otherwise the discount won’t be applied. Unlike Lightning Deals, Coupons are available to any Seller on Amazon – and there’s no deadline for setting them up.
Price Discounts
Lastly, you can set up Price Discounts in Seller Central. Price Discounts are limited-time offers that are tied to either a specific time frame or a specific number of inventory units. So, you could run a Price Discount for 3 days, or for 300 units. Amazon says that this specific deal type will have “special event badging in search results and on product detail pages.” You must submit your Price Discounts in the Events drop down by March 31.
Big Spring Sale Best Practices
As you’re preparing for the Big Spring Sale and submitting your discount offers, there are a few other areas you need to pay attention to ahead of the sale.
Ensure Adequate Inventory
The first and most important best practice to remember for Amazon event days is to ensure you have adequate inventory to account for an increase in sales—especially your inventory at FBA. Additionally, set realistic limits for each deal. For example, don’t make 100% of your inventory eligible for a lightning deal, because you could stock out.
Check Advertising Budgets
Next, check your advertising budgets and make sure you’re not capping out too early in the day due to the increased volume. You can always adjust your budgets during the actual sale, but set yourself up for success by adjusting them ahead of time to avoid any hiccups day-of.
Leverage Off-Amazon Marketing
To drive awareness to your deals, make sure to leverage your off-Amazon marketing channels. Market your event broadly by sending out a series of emails, posting on social media, and even advertising on your owned website! The more traffic you can drive to your Amazon products during this time, the better.
Again… Don’t Stock Out!
Did we mention to make sure you don’t stock out? Because you really don’t want to run out of stock during the Big Spring Sale (or any big event). It’s worth saying again!
