Inventory Management
Due to their large catalog of over 20,000 SKUs, Aleva Brand’s biggest issue was inventory management. They were always right on the cusp of being restricted from sending inventory to FBA, often paying excess inventory fees on items that weren’t selling, and never able to keep track of it due to their large catalog. With Kapoq, they were able to improve their in-stock rate from 91.57% to 98.43%.
Kapoq, especially compared to other industry-leading tools Aleva had used previously, was much more accurate at projecting inventory restock amounts, and was more customizable, allowing them to manage multiple brands and products with different seasonalities. This customization allowed Aleva brands to apply different settings by brand for Safety Stock notifications, so you have a buffer of stock above the minimum Amazon requires to avoid the low-inventory fee. We also take into account different lead-times, which allow you to account for products with longer replenish times.
Now, Aleva is able to keep items in stock, avoid paying massive storage fees, and receive alerts when items need to be restocked — despite having so many differences in their vast catalog.
Accounting & Analytics
Beyond inventory management, the Analytics and Accounting modules in Kapoq are widely used by the entire team at Aleva, giving them SKU-level insights into the bottom line they didn’t have previously.
Before, they never had a good way to see fees broken down at the SKU level—finding the ending profit number per SKU was very difficult. Now, using the Accounting reports in Kapoq, they have visibility to see items where they’re losing money and which products have better-than-average margins, shining a spotlight on them so they can be better prioritized! Over the years, they’ve been able to identify and solve SKU-level issues that have helped their bottom line overall.
